Cawleys Nominated charities

As part of our 70th Anniversary, we are delighted to support two local charities that are close the hearts of Cawleys staff.

Keech Hospice Care is a charity which supports adults from Luton and South Bedfordshire, and children from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes, who have life-limiting and terminal illnesses. They are unique as one of the few hospices in the UK which provide care for both adults and children.

Ride High is a registered charity based in Milton Keynes which aims to help disadvantaged children and those having difficulties in their daily lives, by giving them the opportunity to learn to ride and look after horses and ponies. There is evidence that for children who are angry, hurt, upset, lonely or underprivileged, contact with horses can have highly beneficial effects.

We will be supporting and fundraising for Keech Hospice and Ride High this year via our Head Office in Luton and our two sites in Milton Keynes and Wellingborough with lots of fundraising activities organised by our newly formed Charities Committee.

We post our staff activities and news on our Facebook or twitter pages, so please follow us there if you’d like to see what we’re up to.

Extra Mile Cycle Challenge 2017

Cawleys are entering one team into this year’s Extra Mile Cycle Challenge taking place in Brittany, France.  Each cyclist will cover approximately 45 miles per day, typically in 4 or 5 stages as part of a relay team.

You can read more about our involvement in this activity on our Sport and Fitness page, and read about our featured team member in our blog section.

Cawleys winter competition

This Winter we ran a staff competition.  Calling all budding photographers the competition asked Staff to take a ‘Winter’ themed photo.

Congratulations to our competition winner, Jason Sharpe, who won £70 by getting the most likes and shares for sending in this fantastic photograph of the Winter Supermoon with Cawleys vehicles.
