Cawleys works with local Uni to offer marketing placement

Supporting the local community can happen in a whole range of ways. From charitable giving to complimentary waste collections, Cawleys are always keen to give back to the area in which our business operates. Recently this has involved working with a local university to offer an under-graduate student a years' work placement in our marketing department. Conor Rosling, who attends Northampton University and grew up in Northampton was the lucky chosen candidate and has joined as our new Marketing Assistant working alongside Marketing Manager, Nicky Severn, who has worked in marketing for over 20 years.

Work placements provide a valuable insight into the real world of work and ensure that students obtain relevant experience in their chosen field whilst also completing their degrees.

Conor who joined Cawleys in September, has already hit the ground running and is working on several exciting promotional projects as well as undertaking the day to day commitments of a marketing role.

Commenting on his placement, Conor said: "I feel proud to have secured the placement with Cawleys, I’ve joined the team as marketing assistant which is  a role that perfectly fits with my degree course and will enable me to develop many much needed practical skills.

Environmental awareness and recycling are hot topics right now and Cawleys perform a vital role of helping businesses become more eco-friendly by maximising their recycling rates. Environmental marketing is a growing field and I am very much looking forward to learning more about sustainable business and the importance of treating waste as a resource. This will be an area that is vital to all types of business going forward and this experience will stand me in good stead for a future career in a range of marketing disciplines.

After first seeing the Cawleys site and meeting the team, I knew it’d be the perfect place for me. I have a real ambition to progress and develop my skills and  I am looking forward to doing so with a great team and a great local company."
