Cawleys shortlisted for Milton Keynes Business Achievement Award
We are delighted to have been shortlisted in the Energy and the Environment category for the Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards 2017.
Open to any organisation irrespective of size or industry sector, the category recognises “those that have conscientiously introduced, improved and continued to evolve sustainable, efficient and environmentally friendly practices to the benefit of the business, its customers and the wider environment.”
Entry to the award involved a detailed application form, delving into the impact of the organisation within Milton Keynes, company successes, and how the business delivers major positive environmental impacts.
Circular economy
We are committed to helping our clients reach zero waste to landfill targets, investing in waste recovery and reprocessing technology, and we are very proud to be recognised for this award. Our state of the art Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) captures as much recyclable material as possible, and we pioneered the use of anaerobic digestion for commercial food waste. Our bespoke waste management solutions provide sustainable services that seek to view waste as a resource, striving to achieve a circular economy.
Alongside our waste collection services, we also run staff education and engagement programmes to help people understand how to develop more sustainable working practices and minimise waste. Our brilliant team all work tirelessly to provide exceptional customer service and waste solutions, and we really value and appreciate all their hard work.
Cawleys 70th anniversary
Now a third-generation family business, 2017 marks Cawleys 70th anniversary, and we will be celebrating our work across a wide range of industries, as well as our support to local charities and communities. In 2016, we became a sponsor of Olney RFC, providing a full waste management service for the club, and we continue to work with our local hospice, Keech Hospice, fundraising in many ways.
We have helped Milton Keynes to achieve an exceptional environmental footprint, lowering carbon emissions, reducing landfill and directing waste wherever possible to second life uses.
