What a scorcher. Are your Organic Peroxides safe?

What with record temperatures in the UK approaching 40 degrees centigrade, it is not only your staff that need to be kept cool but also your chemicals.

Organic Peroxides in particular need to be kept cool so they do not spontaneously catch fire which they can do should they reach their Self Accelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT). Some SADT’s are as low as 60C with manufacturers guidelines recommending maximum storage temperatures of 25C meaning that temperatures in the mid 30’s and if chemicals are stored in direct sunlight they could easily approach these temperatures.

So if you have any organic peroxides that need to be removed from site please get in contact with us asap.
