Have you 'herd' about the Big Trunk Trail?
Keech Hospice Care is bringing something BIG to Luton this summer and we're taking part.
Get ready! This July, The Big Trunk Trail arrives in Luton – the biggest, most unique outdoor public art event Luton’s ever seen. At least 30 vibrant, beautifully decorated elephants will trumpet along a free, fun, family-friendly art trail around the town’s key landmarks.
This fantastic event is being brought to Luton by Keech Hospice Care to celebrate its 30th anniversary and say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the charity’s work over the years. As a long serving supporter of all the great work that is done by Keech, we have sponsored our very own elephant which is being designed by our dedicated artist, Caroline Coates.
Painting is now well and truly underway and we are extremely excited to be able to see our finished elephant in just a few weeks.
The full completed design will be kept under wraps until the summer when on Saturday 10 July 2021, all of the beautifully designed elephants will 'parade' into Luton. They will stay in situ until Friday 8 October 2021 after which there will be a final farewell event on 23–31 October 2021 and 2-9 November 2021 at Herd HQ. After this, the legacy of The Big Trunk Trail continues as at least 30 large elephants will be auctioned on 11 November 2021 to raise vital funds for Keech Hospice Care.
